About this event

  • 2 hours

We are delighted to share our BOOBS Pram Walks.

  • Walking for fitness and fun;
  • Meeting new people;
  • Sharing experiences;
  • Access to breastfeeding support.

Our Bury is a circular walk to Burrs Country Park and back, and takes about 65-90 minutes to complete. There can be rest points available along the route, and the walk can be shortened if need be on the day. We will end our walk back in the centre of Bury, close to where we started, in our Tier 2 B.O.O.B.S Approved venue, Ground Up Coffee Shop.

Free to attend, our walks are led by a trained walk leader, and breastfeeding peer support will be available during and after the walks. Public transport cost reimbursement is currently available to help you access our walks.

The routes are pram friendly, and baby-wearing (slings/carriers) are welcomed.

Please wear weather-appropriate clothing, and note there are usually some muddy areas once in Burrs Country Park.

Don't let finances be a barrier to you attending these free walks. We can offer walkers a contribution towards transport fees, to help you join us on the day. Email bettyann@visitfromthestork.co.uk to confidentially enquire about this contribution.

If you are interested in walking with us, keep a look out for our other upcoming walks in Prestwich, Tottington, Bury, and Ramsbottom. Do you live in an area of Bury not listed here, and would like to see a local walk to you? Get in touch to let us know!

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be a breastfeeding parent to come on this walk?

No, you do not need to be breastfeeding to join us. Come along for the walk and talk, we'd love to meet you.

Can I get breastfeeding support on this walk?

There will be at least one breastfeeding peer supporter on our walks. If they cannot talk to you about breastfeeding during the walk itself there will be time in the cafe meet up (which takes place either in the middle or at the end of our walks) for you to access support.

Organized by

BOOBS is a project of Manchester based charity Visit from the Stork, with a mission to support all women in Salford & Bury to reach their breastfeeding goals.

We are an independent group, funded by Salford CCG, National Lottery and Salix homes to work with parents in Salford and enable them to share stories, ideas and information about breastfeeding experiences, so more parents can have a safe, happy and comfortable breastfeeding journey.
