Join Inkandescent live on Zoom for a salon to celebrate the launch of their new short story collection. Mainstream brings thirty authors in from the margins to occupy centre-page. Queer storytellers. Working class wordsmiths. Chroniclers of colour. Writers whose life experiences give unique perspectives on universal challenges, whose voices must be heard. And read.‘a wonderful collection of unique stories by unique voices’—Kathy BurkeReading from their stories will be Neil Bartlett, Julia Bell, Gaylene Gould, Iqbal Hussain, Juliet Jacques and Golnoosh Nour. They’ll be joined from around the world by other writers in the anthology—including Bidisha, DJ Connell, Kerry Hudson and Paul McVeigh—offering bespoke video messages.This is a live broadcast of an event at Above the Stag Theatre, London. This event will feature BSL interpretation and closed captioning via Zoom.

Inkandescent was founded by Justin David and Nathan Evans. For Mainstream, they’ve partnered with Unbound to raise funding and with Spread the Word to find emerging talent.
