Set in the magnificent surroundings of St George’s Hall, this special event will include a live reading, author talk, performances from local schools and youth groups and the opportunity to reflect on how stories help children understand the world—and each other.
📍 St George’s Hall, Concert Hall, Liverpool
📅 23rd March
🕕 From 6:00pm
Families, educators, and book lovers are warmly welcome.
Come along to meet some of the amazing services supporting young people across Merseyside including MYA, YPAS, Barnardos, PSS, School Health Team, Daisy Incusive UK, Alfie's Squad and The LFC Foundation.
The event celebrates the launch of What If: The Story of Little Asad, the first book in a series created as a supportive resource for children. The series is designed to help children gently explore and understand adverse childhood experiences, including early trauma, displacement, instability, and emotional uncertainty, through age-appropriate storytelling that centres empathy, resilience, and hope.
This launch is intended as a community-focused and youth-inclusive event, bringing together young people, families, practitioners, creatives, and youth services who support children and young people with lived experience of adversity.
The aim of the event is to create a safe, welcoming space that promotes understanding, early support, and community connection, while highlighting the role youth services play in supporting children affected by adverse childhood experiences.
