Bookbinding Workshop: Create your own Journal
Overview

Join us at MIAH Foundation on 14th February, 12–3:00pm, exploring traditional techniques of Islamic bookbinding to create your own journal!

During this hands-on workshop, you will examine a traditional manuscript in person and learn the basics of constructing a soft-cover Islamic manuscript. From collating pages into signatures and sewing them into a textblock, to attaching a paper cover, you will create your own notebook from scratch to take home.

Participants will have the choice to make a blank notebook or to use a template for a Ramadan journal, perfect for reflection and note taking during the Holy Month.

All materials are provided.

This is a unique opportunity to get a glimpse into the traditional craft of Islamic bookbinding.
