Borrow a Boat

Designed as stepping stones from dry land that enable more people to experience the water in a way that suits them best: from joining a paddleboarding adventure in the Scottish Highlands to booking a cabin on a sail and ski holiday or gaining qualifications in sailing. Borrow A Boat Experiences will be the go-to place for all kinds of cool ways to get on the water, and we're extremely excited to launch this new hub on Tuesday 18th June.
Come down from 4pm and join us in the marina for our launch event at St Katharine's Docks. Look out for the green pontoon where you'll have the opportunity to jump on a stand up paddleboard (SUP) and give it a go for free, or relax on a deck chair and watch other people wrestling with gravity while we chat all things experiences over a drink. If bigger boats are more your thing you can hop aboard and explore the Lady Daphne - a 1923 Thames Sailing Barge moored alongside the pontoon.  
From 7pm pull up a pew, grab a beer and escape normal life with tales of watery adventures that'll have you longing for your own sea based experience.

Fiona Quinn
Last year Fiona SUPed the length of Britain, from Lands End to John O'Groats, setting 3 world records along the way. Facing her fear of the sea she pulled together a support team and set about taking on a challenge that no one had ever attempted before. With stories of starting before you're ready and surrounding yourself with the right kinds of people, she will share with you what led her to loose sight of shore in the pursuit of a different kind of life.
Fiona is now leading our Experiences here at Borrow A Boat and will be on hand to help you find your own water-based adventure.
Henry Burkitt 
Henry has some awesome stories from the high seas to tell. His expeditions have taken him all over the world, often using boats as a means to get to remote regions and explore further by paddle, foot, bike or ski. He now runs expeditions, which are available via Borrow A Boat Experiences. 
Genny Tulloch
Genny our CMO is a die-hard boater: first as a baby in a crib on her dad’s boat, then fishing and learning to sail in dinghies, leading to offshore racing and Olympic training, and recently commentating and producing for the America’s Cup, Volvo Ocean Race, and Olympics. Her entry into offshore racing was through a Disney documentary movie, and without giving too much away she’ll let us in on what that was all about, the lessons learned, and the life experiences too great to miss out there on the open ocean.
Al Miles
Al has always liked the outdoors and isn't afraid of a bit of weather - he didn't predict however that he would be skippering a boat the size of a 2 up 2 down house in the suburbs around Greece with his friends only 18 months after his first sailing experience. This is the story of expecting the unexpected and the lessons learned in a quest to get your sailing P plates.
