The process of block printing is calming and meditative, and at the same time there is something really satisfying and exciting about gradually seeing a pattern grow on your fabric.

We will use hand-carved wooden blocks from India to explore pattern repeats. We will explore the different techniques and look at layering your blocks, You will learn how to get the inking and the pressure just right and then combine your own choice of colour and motifs to create your own unique pattern design.

You will first print your design onto paper and then you will have the choice between printing onto napkins or a cushion cover.

The majority of my blocks are designed by me and carved in India by talented Artisans. You will not find these blocks elsewhere so this is your change to creat something completely unique and beautiful.

All materials and tools are included in the workshop. We ask that you bring an apron and wear old clothes. There is free parking on site and refreshments will be served on arrival. Refresment and cake will also be served half way through the workshop.
