Join local historian Val Hewson to learn about the vital role Sheffield Libraries played in the city in WWII. Yes, people came to the library for entertainment,(losing yourself in a book could take your mind off air-raids), but the libraries did much more. Helping people who were bombed out or were searching for relatives or needed advice about food supplies.  And then there was the night in December 1940 when we nearly lost our Central Library in the fire-storm of the Blitz…
