BRAID IT: A PLAYFUL KUMIHIMO WORKSHOP
Join Designer/Maker Hannah Wild for a super creative Kumihimo workshop where you’ll learn the art of traditional Japanese artform and craftwork for making braids and cords.
Using weaving discs and through guided making and playful experimentation, we will swap customary threads for discarded balloon strings - typically a single use material - to create joyful, one-of-a-kind accessories such as bag charms, button details and brooches.
It's an in-person event, perfect for beginners or anyone curious about making with usual materials. All materials will be provided and participants will leave with their own creation and the skills to continue the technique at home.
