Deep in the stoner rock scene since its inception, Brant Bjork started his career as a musical god as the founding drummer for a little known band called Katzenjammer; they later went on to rename themselves Kyuss and not only rule but create the stoner rock scene. But that was only the start for Bjork, who went on to lend his mastery of percussion to other big hitters of the scene, including Fu Manchu and Mondo Generator among others.
His talents and natural vibe really shone through when he released his debut solo record, Jalamanta, in 1999. Not only did Brant's multi-instrumental ease make itself known to the world; so did his songwriting. Stripped down, tripped out and laid back, this was the birth of the Low Desert Punk he is today. Adding to that sound over the last 17 years with countless more solo projects and Bjork fronted bands, he's become a formidable force in the desert scene; as anybody who caught his performance with The Low Desert Band at Desertfest in 2015 can attest to.
With a new record in tow - September's Tao of the Devil - Brant Bjork is hitting the road for a European tour. His date at The Garage in London on 7th November is one to see, not only because it's the UK exclusive date, but, well, because it's Brant god damned Bjork; and you can never get enough Brant god damned Bjork.
