‘Break the Cycle’ is a one-day conference for 300 participants to launch a grassroots movement. There is a massive under-representation of BAME leaders in senior roles in both primary and secondary education across the UK and, all this, of course, has a hugely negative set of impacts on the life opportunities of many children and students.

Our goal is to change the culture and promote BAME leadership. The day will be hosted by Steve Chalke with other Oasis staff and through the day participants will work together to produce a national manifesto. As part of the event, we will also launch a resources website – including the manifesto and a tool kit of ideas to support delivery – and set up regional ‘chapters’ whose task it will to spread the word, work with others, and press this important agenda forward.
