Let's come together in a beautiful group setting and rest and reset. Sometimes we need to slow down in order to speed back up!In this Conscious Connected Breathwork session, qualified breathwork facilitator Briony Gunson will guide you.WHAT'S INVOLVED?The special in-person workshop will start with a cup of warming cacao as we explore coaching exercises to open our minds. We will explore ways you can invite more rest into your life, to allow your mind and body to reset. We will then explore embodiment exercise and breathing and movement to connect the mind to the body.After this, we will drop into a 55-minute breathwork session, followed by a body scan to deeply relax the body. After breathwork, there will be time for integration and a sharing circle. And we will finish with a warming vegan stew, prepared on site.WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?How wonderful to come together as a group and breathe! Breathwork is a powerful practice that can help to relieve physical and emotional tension, supporting the body in detoxing, as well as reduce anxiety, boost your immune system, support better quality sleep and deeper lung capacity. You can also share your experiences in a safe, confidential and loving space.CONSCIOUS CONNECTED BREATHWORK TECHNIQUE1. Open your mouth wide, as if you are taking a bite of an apple. Relax your jaw and body. 2. Take full breaths down into your belly, and then your chest. Fill your lungs as best you can, being sure to keep the body relaxed.3. You can breathe in a circular breathing pattern, with no pauses at the top or bottom - there is a constant flow of air.4. Keep your mind focused on your breath. This will keep your mind present. It’s normal for the mind to wander off - so keep letting go of thoughts and focus back on the sensation of the body breathing. Conscious attention is being developed by focusing the mind on your breath. 5. The inhale should be active - so the effort (or work in breathwork!) is on the inhale. Allow the exhale to be passive, so it just falls out of the body. Fill up as you breathe in and then let go completely when you breathe out. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING? HOW SHOULD YOU PREPARE?To make the most of this session please:- Try not to eat 2 hours before the session - breathing with a full tummy can be uncomfortable! And we will have some food after the session.- Make sure you are well hydrated but do not drink lots of water just before taking part- No alcohol or drugs within 48 hours of this session- Bring a blanket, mat and a pillow- Bringing a journal or notepad and penIMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BREATHWORK:*** YOU MUST READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE TAKING PART ***Participants are responsible for their own health and wellbeing during a breathwork session.Breathwork is not a substitute for medical advice. Please note the important contraindications below. If you experience any of the following, you should consult your GP or healthcare provider first:BREATHWORK GUIDELINES/CONTRAINDICATIONSSchizophrenia, bi-polar disorder or psychosis, PTSD, epilepsy, glaucoma, heart conditions or arrhythmia, COPD, pre-existing lung disease, high or very low blood pressure with a history of fainting or any recent major surgery or taking any medications or have any medical conditions. Any stage of a pregnancy - particularly a delicate pregnancy - should also be carefully managed. You must inform the facilitator BEFORE the session if you have any of these conditions. Breathwork should not be undertaken without supervision or medical advice.By taking part in this session, you take full responsibility for your health and wellbeing.
