Those holding tickets for 'online attendance' will be emailed a link in the days prior to the event to watch the livestream, but attendance at the theatre is limited to those with in-person guest or speaker tickets.<a href="https://braiduk.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">BRAID</a> (Bridging Responsible AI Divides) is a three year programme that is part of UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council's £8.5 million investment in enabling a responsible AI ecosystem. The first programme of its scale in the UK, BRAID seeks to leverage the unique strengths of the UK’s vibrant arts and humanities to bridge the growing divide between technology’s power and human responsibility. Co-led by The University of Edinburgh's Professors Ewa Luger and Shannon Vallor, in partnership with the Ada Lovelace Institute and with the help of researchers from the BBC, BRAID's interdisciplinary team is working with academics, policymakers and regulators, civil society, industry and publics across the UK nations to identify and begin to lower the barriers to an AI ecosystem that is responsible, ethical and accountable by default.Our launch event at London's stunning BBC Radio Theatre brings together leaders, creators, and emerging voices from across the AI ecosystem to discuss the challenges and possibilities for a responsible AI ecosystem in the UK and beyond.This event will feature a keynote from Dr Rumman Chowdhury of the Berkman Klein Center for Internet &amp; Society at Harvard University, in addition to panel discussions, artist installations, plus a drinks, arts and networking reception. The day's events will focus on four main themes:<ul><li>What divides do we need to bridge in order to create a healthy and sustainable responsible AI ecosystem?</li><li>What lessons can we learn from the ‘first wave’ of responsible AI research?</li><li>Who is responsible for responsible AI? Who are the actors, what are their roles, and where is their power?</li><li>What does the future of responsible AI hold with the latest generative AI tools? What new creative visions, humane values, and fresh insights must guide that future?</li></ul>REGISTRATIONThe event is free but advance registration is required. Only online livestream tickets are remaining.Those holding guest or speaker tickets for in person-attendance should plan to arrive at London Broadcasting House by 12pm in order to allow sufficient time for ID check and security, which includes bag screening.LOCATIONFor those with Online tickets, a joining link will be shared with you prior to the event. For those holding in-person guest tickets, the BBC Radio Theatre is located in London Broadcasting House in Portland Place and Langham Place.
