Have a brew and learn something new with Dot Sign Language at the Engine Room @ LeedsBID

This thought provoking and interactive online training session gives you the chance to learn something new and to acquire practical skills. The course will provide a brief introduction to Deaf Awareness including the prevalence of deafness in the UK, practical communication tips, and information about:<ul><li>Lip reading</li><li>Facial expressions</li><li>Fingerspelling and</li><li>British Sign Language (BSL).</li></ul>Attendees will join experienced tutors in virtual breakout rooms for a ‘hands on’ and interactive classroom experience to learn fingerspelling and simple BSL phrases. 	Leeds Business Improvement District is pleased to invite expressions of interest from 25 LeedsBID levy payers for a free space on online workshop. Each space is worth £40.This BSL training will help Leeds BID levy payers to:<ul><li>Improve accessibility to many customers who find communication a challenge in restrictive circumstances during the pandemic </li><li>Increase business sales, services and customer loyalty to existing and new Deaf customers </li><li>Demonstrate Inclusion and Diversity and </li><li>Create good PR and brand recognition.</li></ul>Dot tutors are all Deaf BSL users. They are the best people to teach their language and answer your questions from personal experience. They will teach the session in BSL – so you can immerse yourselves in sign language. A BSL interpreter will be present to voiceover and provide translation.
