Build Back Better

The Bristol Energy Network is an umbrella organisation for all community energy groups in Bristol and the surrounding area. It aimsto promote community solutions for sustainable energy provision and usebyfacilitating and promoting the diverse activities and projects undertaken by its community energy group members bycascading news, information and policy updates from local partners and national organisations,acting as a conduit between local groups and external organisations andproviding an open platform for the sharing of resources, ideas and debate through regular open meetings.The network is strongly action-orientated. It seeks to promote collaboration between existing and new groups for the benefit of all.

The coronavirus pandemic has turned the world upside down, exposing major weaknesses in our economy and the deep-seated inequalities in our society that mean the most vulnerable people have been hit the hardest.But what we do next could change everything. As the world recovers, we have a chance to reset the clock and <a href="https://www.buildbackbetteruk.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">build back better </a>than before.Join us on Wednesday 3rd February at 6pm to consider what Bristol can do to Build Back Better in how we deal with energy - so that our homes are warm and insulated, community buildings become hubs for energy literacy, and everyone has access to sustainable energy finance. We want to build back better so that our <a href="https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/BristolEmergencyCovidWinterFund" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Emergency Covid Winter Fund</a> is no longer needed.Come and hear from:<ul><li>West of England Combined Authority about funding available for businesses</li><li>University of Bristol about the SONNET project – how community buildings can get energy efficient</li><li>Our new WUSU (Warm Up Skill Up) DIY project</li><li>and more...</li></ul>Share ideas for how to engage with communities post-pandemic and during pandemic, and what we can do to contribute to the Bristol No Cold homes agenda in the long term.
