Building a Powerful Future: Using Kwanzaa Principles for Black Britain
workshop exploring how the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa (Nguzo Saba) can be used as practical tools to shape a stronger future.
This session goes beyond Kwanzaa as a seasonal celebration. Together, we will examine how values such as unity, self-determination, collective responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith can guide real action in our homes, communities, organisations, and businesses as we look toward 2026 and beyond.
Through group discussions, creative activities, and future visioning, participants will:
- Connect Kwanzaa principles to the real challenges and opportunities facing Black Britain
- Share ideas across generations and backgrounds
- Co-create practical actions for community growth, wellbeing, and economic empowerment
- Leave feeling motivated, connected, and empowered to contribute to a collective future
This event is open to community members, creatives, organisers, parents, elders, young people, and anyone committed to building a thriving future rooted in African-centred values.
Come ready to reflect, connect, and build—because our future is something we create together.
This workshop will take place on Sunday 28 Decemer 2025 from 16:00 GMT at The Black Cultural Centre Islington, 16–18 Hornsey Road, London, N7 7BT. Nearest tube station is Holloway Road (Piccadilly Line). Free on street parking.
