About this event

  • Event lasts 6 hours

You will reflect on literacy-related reasons for underperformance in science, and how best-practice literacy teaching can overcome these problems. You will take away practical approaches that are known to work well in science, and be able to develop your own - introducing and using keywords, sentences and paragraphs; purposeful talk in science; techniques for reluctant or literacy-poor science learners; reading and understanding science texts and exam questions; forms of scientific writing; and developing structured extended writing and answers.

Organized by

We are an independent, self funded Science Hub working at St Clement Danes School for all science teachers and technicians in Bucks, West Herts, and East Berks. We aim to provide high quality CPD, bespoke support, networking opportunities and inspiration for Science teaching and learning.
