How do you actually reach hard-to-reach communities and then how do you talk to them about reuse? In a recent project Freegle tried to find out just that.

We knew it wouldn't be plain sailing, but along with the closed doors and unanswered voicemails, we also met some amazing community champions, saved student fridges from an untimely end, made friends with foodbanks and really got to grips with how to work with community support organisations to deliver positive social and environmental outcomes.

In this session, as part of Circular Economy Week 2025, find out how our initial thought - "We know we can really help" turned into a year-long project to spread the word about reuse to communities often left behind by standard waste prevention messaging.
