In this short series, we will investigate topics that make Dundee, its history and its people, unique.

Many of us will have heard tales told to us by our relatives of their times working in Dundee's iconic industries. Over this course, we will look at the impact the successes and failures of some of these industries had on the city and its population.

We will also take a wander through the Wellgate up to its demise in the 1970s, to rekindle the memories of this focal point for Dundee.

Each talk will be followed by time for questions and contributions.

3rd June: The Wellgate Project: Erin Farley.

10th June: Talking Timex - Looking at the Legacy of Timex in Dundee: Julie McCrombie.

17th June: If these wa's cuid talk - The Jute Mills of Dundee and surrounding area: Alison Carrie.

24th June: A Hacklemaker’s Tale - More Than Just Hackles: Roderick Stewart
