Children, young people and their families are invited to attend an action-packed family languages event, hosted by Scotland’s National Centre for Languages (SCILT), and the Confucius Institute for Scotland’s Schools (CISS), on Saturday 17th March 2018, from 12:15 to 16:00hrs at the University of Strathclyde.

We welcome all language learners, from nursery and primary pupils through to students in further and higher education to attend. Families will have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of intergenerational activities to celebrate and promote languages and cultural diversity.

Not only is this jam-packed afternoon free of charge, there will also be opportunity to explore a range of stalls to suit all ages and interests and engage with language enthusiasts from various organisations.

Our varied programme features something for everyone, ranging from interactive workshops and lectures to language and culture tasting sessions facilitated by energetic and dynamic organisations including the following:
Bilingualism Matters, Carmyle Primary School Choir, Classics for All, Le Petit Monde, Lingo Flamingo, North Ayrshire Council, Radio Lingua, Royal Air Force, Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, Russian Centre ‘Haven’, School of Irish Dancing and Theatre Sans Accents.

Come and discover the benefits of language learning for yourself through fun activities such as dance, singing, painting and many more! Refreshments will be provided on arrival.

Free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
