The CIPD Midlands Annual Event - Building Workplaces for the Future
This full day event has been organised by the 8 branches of the CIPD Midlands Area Partnership (MAP) - Black Country, Birmingham, Coventry & Warwickshire, Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire, Hereford & Worcester, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire.
Our keynote speakers are:

There are a range of workshops for you to choose from, an exhibition and the chance to network with HR and L&D professionals from across the Midlands region.
08:30-09:15 Brexit Breakfast
An additional ‘early bird’ workshop (limited places) sponsored by our Event Partner the SF Group HR Recruitment Team
Richard Barker and Abisola Latunji from Mills & Reeve will lead this session which will review where the UK is with Brexit and the political uncertainty it has created, how that is already impacting on employment law and how it’s likely to shape legislation in the coming years.

10:05-11:15 Opening keynote session: Building Workplaces for the Future
The opening keynote session will feature Peter Cheese the CEO of CIPD and Tim Jones who is a Senior Programme Commercial Manager from Network Rail. They will set the scene around People at Work and the challenges faced by those responsible for organising, leading and motivating diverse workforces. Tim will give insights into the people issues involved in the transformation of Birmingham New Street Station particularly around targeted recruitment and training.

Workshop B: New Organisations, New Jobs - led by Joanne Werth and Peter Kay from Tarmac
Workshop C: Developing Talent - Preparing for the Future of Learning - led by Laura Overton of Towards Maturity
Workshop D: Future Technologies: Making Learning as Addictive as Video Games - led by Karyn Murray and Nitin Thakrar of E-Learning Studios

15:00-16:00 Closing keynote session: Keep Stepping! Essential ways to lead yourself and others through challenge and change
International motivational speaker and author Joy Marsden will deliver her Keep Stepping Masterclass which will cover how to maintain personal motivation through challenging times, how to increase personal resilience and how to develop personal and professional confidence.

What the refund policy?
A full refund is available if your place is cancelled before 23 September 2016, after that then delegate fee is non-refundable
When do I make my Workshop choices?
Once your booking has been made we will contact you to ask you to choose which workshops you would like to attend. You can also book on the Brexit Breakfast at this stage, although places for this are limited and will be available on a first-come-first-served basis

When & Where
CIPD Midlands Area Partnership
The Midlands Area Partnership (MAP) is a regional group of 9 branches in the Midlands area which combine to cover 15,000 CIPD members. The group aims to promote the CIPD purpose of championing better work and working lives thoughout the Midlands region by sharing best practice, improving links between the individual branches and providing networking opportunities for all our members.
The nine branches are:
- Black Country
- Coventry & Warwickshire
- Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire
- Hereford & Worcester
The Midlands Area Partnership holds an annual regional event each year, the next one will be taking place on Saturday 7 October at Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwickshire.
MAP also organises an annual student conference - the 2017 conference will be held on Saturday 11 March at Aston University on the theme Empowering the Future Leaders of HR. Full details are available on the event are available on the conference webpage and you can book your place online.
