Built Environment for the Future: Overheating - a hot topic
Exploring how we can manage the impact of increasing temperatures through design.
As cities continue to warm, overheating is becoming one of the most pressing climate resilience challenges facing the built environment. From public realm design to building performance and district‑scale strategies, addressing rising temperatures requires coordinated, multi‑scale solutions.
This Built Environment for the Future session brings together speakers from Shade the UK, Allies and Morrison, and Buro Happold to explore how we can design cities that remain liveable, healthy, and resilient in a hotter future.
Following speaker presentation and a panel Q&A, we will run a World Cafe-style workshop, giving attendees an opportuity to dive into the themes explored in the first half in more detail.
For those that don't know, we're about NextGen collaboration for climate action: calling all architects, engineers, ecologists, cost and planning consultants, project managers, contractors and specialists in the built environment.
As usual, this is an open space for all inquisitive questions, free from judgement, where we can all learn and help drive the industry to a better future.
