Bundle Dye a Silk Scarf

The Hepworth Wakefield is an award-winning art gallery in the heart of Yorkshire, set within Wakefield’s historic waterfront overlooking the River Calder. Designed by the acclaimed David Chipperfield Architects, the gallery opened in May 2011.Named after Barbara Hepworth, one of the most important artists of the 20th century who was born and brought up in Wakefield, the gallery presents major exhibitions of the best international modern and contemporary art and has dedicated galleries exploring Hepworth’s art and working process.

Join Isobel Denton of abitmoreink to experiment with natural bundle-dye techniques to create patterns on fabric, including a silk scarf.

You will use natural materials throughout the process including dried dye plants, fresh dye plants, dried dye powders, vinegar, re-used fabric and natural fabric throughout the workshop.You will use the skills learned to create a unique silk scarf - perfect as a gift or to wear yourself.No experience is needed as you will be given step by step guidance by the artist.About the tutorIsobel Denton is a Yorkshire artist inspired by nature and exploring wellbeing though creativity.
