Discover the vital role played by this ancient woodland in the preparations for the D-Day landings.
Join us for a two and a half hour, afternoon walk to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, exploring how Winston Churchill made use of the ancient woodland at Burnham Beeches to safeguard vehicles destined for use during the landings. See where the Army had its camp, learn how they dealt with vehicles as they arrived and find out what happened after the war. The event is free, but donations are welcome - suggested donation £4. If you would rather not make a donation, please call the Burnham Beeches Office to be added manually to the attendance list - 01753 647358. We are sorry but no dogs are allowed on the walk. The event is subject to suitable weather conditions; we will do our best to contact you in good time if we have to cancel.
Please note: you will need to book one ticker per person attending. The daily weekend parking charge of £3 is not included in the price of this ticket.
