Actions and Detail Panel

Do you have an original business idea? Are you hoping to take the next step on the career ladder? Ever dreamt of setting up your own company?
On the 10th and 11th September, the steel city will become a hub of innovative ideas and passionate pitches, as JCI Sheffield launches its first Business Academy, sponsored by Inox and the JCI UK Foundation. Featuring an impressive panel of speakers and high-quality workshops, this event is suitable for everyone with an interest in business – whether you’re a promising student, an experienced entrepreneur, or just seeking some career inspiration.
Over the weekend, you’ll learn how to create and develop your own business concept, culminating in a Dragons’ Den style pitch. Don’t worry – our ‘dragons’ are much less intimidating than their BBC counterparts!
Experts in their respective industries, our panel will provide you with insights into their entrepreneurial achievements, and offer practical advice for starting your own company. Our confirmed speakers include:
Julie Kenny CBE – Former Chair and Chief Executive of the award-winning Pyronix Ltd.
Richard Wright Executive Director Sheffield Chamber of Commerce – Sheffield's leading business membership organisation, representing commerce since 1857.
Natalie Fletcher from Business Sheffield – Advice service for entrepreneurs and those hoping to start their own company.
And watch this (perfectly designed) space – we’ll be announcing more guest speakers very soon as we don't want you to get too excited all at once.
The Business Academy is open to JCI members and non-members, although members will benefit from a heavily discounted rate.
If you have any questions, please contact the Project Manager, Mark Smith.
