About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

A workshop for all ages, including family groups, making butterfly hand puppets. Join Anna from CoCreate and make fluttering butterfly hand puppets from tissue paper, ready for our 4pm midsummer procession in the woods.

At 2.30pm we will also have a workshop to make tissue flowers - do book a ticket to attend that too if you'd like.

Children will need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

After the workshops, join us for our fireside story circle where your paper flowers and butterfly finger puppets will become part of the story of Henry McAllister and his Remarkable Nose. There will be plenty of opportunities for everyone to participate whilst learning about the life cycle of a butterfly!

The procession will meet at the Slades Pavilion at 4pm, before we head off together to the event space in the woods, gathering around the fire basket for the stories. The event will end around 5pm. You are welcome to stay longer however, and might like to bring a picnic or marshmallows for enjoying around the fire after the stories.

Please be aware we have observed light numbers of midge in the area, particularly during still weather. The fire smoke should deter them, but you might like to wear insect repellent cream if you are prone to irritation from the bites.
