Buzzing Barnet is an urban re-wilding activation workshop that creates a synergy between people, plants and pollinators.
The workshop supports participants to fashion “Buzz Stops” - portable pots planted with pollinator-friendly herbs and flowers that people can situate in their gardens and balconies thus providing nectar rich pathways for insects.
The plants are being grown and nurtured by green-fingered Finchleans between March and June in their homes and allotments, re-using pots donated by members of the local community.
Visitors to the workshop will also be invited to create a model pollinator from upcycled materials, guided by Alison Sharpe, a local upcycling artist.
Additionally, our volunteers will share advice and ideas about improving the local habitat for pollinators, which in turn strengthens food security for us humans. The workshops are part of the Round The Square event organised by the East Finchley Town Team, funded by Barnet Council and free to attend.
