Join a bystander intervention workshop hosted by Kill the Bill Liverpool.

Following increased reports of homophobic harassment and violence in Liverpool over the summer, we wanted to organise something which could help to keep people safe from harassment and violence. In this bystander intervention workshop, we will explore and discuss different ways of intervening to stop or de-escalate situations of harassment and violence when we see them, without needing to involve police. This workshop will focus specifically on intervening in homophobic and transphobic harassment and violence, but the techniques and methods we will explore can be used in many other situations.Police, and the wider criminal justice system as a whole, do not keep us safe. We keep us safe.This event is organised and hosted by Kill the Bill Liverpool.Practical details:Tickets for this workshop are free, but places are limited. We may run additional workshops if people are interested, and we will also be holding an online version of this workshop soon, to ensure it's accessible to those who cannot attend in-person.The workshop will take place at DoES, which is on the first floor of The Tapestry Building on Kempston Street. The space is wheelchair accessible, with a lift to the first floor. There is also a wheelchair accessible toilet.The workshop will be two hours long, with a short break in the middle.The room we are holding it in is large, with windows that can be opened for ventilation. Face masks and hand sanitiser will be provided. We encourage anyone who wishes to attend to take a lateral flow test before hand, and to not come if you have recently tested positive for Covid.If you have any questions, please send us a message!
