<h2>Common Ambition Bristol - Community Consultation </h2>What is <a href="https://www.brigstowe.org/common-ambition-bristol/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Common Ambition Bristol</a> (CAB)?  A three year community powered project to increase HIV awareness, HIV testing and reduce HIV stigma in African and Caribbean heritage communities in Bristol.   Why is this project important? In Bristol, 2.7 people out of 1,000 aged between 15 and 59 are living with HIV. The rate has been steadily increasing since 2011 and is higher than the average for England (2.4 per 1,000 people). There are a disproportionate number of people of African &amp; Caribbean heritage people in Bristol who:  <ol><li>Have become seriously ill when the infection reaches an advanced stage due to a late diagnosis </li><li> Are at risk of passing the virus to others due to lack of awareness, as they might not be aware that they have it </li><li>Have identified problems with accessing HIV and sexual health services  </li></ol>What will the project do? CAB will tackle these issues working alongside African and Caribbean Heritage communities to implement initiatives that are culturally sensitive to increase access to testing and to reduce stigma around HIV What do we want to do now? The project is looking at initiatives that have been tried and tested with positive results from a global perspective, however we are also aware that different things work in different settings and are keen to engage with African &amp; Caribbean Heritage Communities to explore these furtherConsultations :- Come join one of the consultation sessions below &amp; let us know what you think will work in Bristol:<ul><li>Tuesday 10th August 	 2.30 – 4pm 	Easton Community Centre, BS5 6AW
