Overview

Called to Serve is a chance to explore and find out more about the opportunities for different types of ministry and service

Thinking how you might serve God? Book for one of our Called to Serve roadshow events

Called to Serve is an event for people who want to find out more about different ways of serving, especially in ordained or licensed ministry or roles like youth and children’s worker or pastoral ministry.

Is God calling you to something new?

As we explore together how God is calling us all to bless the 1.5m in this diocese, are you thinking how God might be calling you to serve? If that’s you, then the Called to Serve roadshow events could be what you need to help you explore the next step.

Called to Serve is a chance to explore and find out more about the opportunities for different types of ministry and service. It will include information on exploring a call to be an ordained or licensed lay minister like a Reader or Church Army evangelist but also a variety of other ways of serving God in both the church and the world.

Hosted by the Ministry team, each event will provide an overview of several different types of ministry and what they are, as well as thinking about some general resources for exploring where God is calling you. There will be a chance to find out more about some practicalities, like what’s involved in discerning a call to different types of ministry, what the training might look like, and how the ministry feels in practice. A range of people from the Ministry team at Church House and various different areas of ministry will be there to talk about ordained and licensed ministry and areas like pastoral work, chaplaincy and youth and children’s work. Each event will include input from Bishops Mark, Julie or Sam.
