Calton Hill Archaeology Project Final Workshop

Headland Archaeology (UK) LtdEdinburgh, Edinburgh
Saturday, Feb 28 from 10 am to 11:30 am GMT
Overview

Explore the archaeological potential of Calton Hill – including recent learnings – and the possibilities for further research

Calton Hill archaeology project final workshop

Join us in person for a workshop to bring together a summary of the archaeological potential of the hill, as well as an outline scope for further research on the archaeology of Calton Hill.

The workshop will build on information from the recent photogrammetric survey and series of archaeology workshops on Calton Hill, and will include exploring how archaeologists use regional research frameworks and develop written schemes of investigation.

Participants will be invited to explore what we know about the history and archaeology of the hill – including recent learnings – and highlight areas and questions around what is left to uncover.

The workshop is open to everyone who has an interest in Calton Hill and finding out more about archaeology and history of the hill (no archaeology knowledge or experience needed!).

This workshop will be led by Headland Archaeology’s Community Archaeologist, Jessica Lowther.

Spaces on this free workshop are limited, so please register now to secure your place.

The Calton Hill Conservation Trust Community Archaeology Project is supported by the City of Edinburgh Council Community Grants Fund.
