CAMERA Emergency Volunteering Team Training Session

We give information & support and host events for volunteers and volunteer managers in Camden. This includes employer-supported volunteering via Team UP which connects businesses with local non-profits that could use help doing something.So, in a nutshell, we believe Camden is a better place through volunteering, and our job is to make that happen.We are always looking for better ways to do what we do. <H2 CLASS="MsoNormal"><SPAN>+ Essential training for anyone who wants to take part as an Emergency Response and Recovery Volunteer in Camden or Hammersmith & Fulham. </SPAN></H2>
<H3 CLASS="MsoNormal"><SPAN>Could you help in Camden or Hammersmith & Fulham in the event of an emergency? </SPAN></H3>
<H3 CLASS="MsoNormal"><SPAN><A HREF="http://volunteercentrecamden.org.uk/could-you-help-emergency-camden/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><SPAN>CAMERA Emergency Volunteering Programme</SPAN></A> </SPAN><SPAN>has officially launched in Camden and Hammersmith & Fulham <I>and we are now looking for people who would be able to be trained to respond in the event of an emergency</I>.<BR> <BR> The experience of the Grenfell tragedy and the Chalcots Estate evacuation showed that there was a surplus of <I>people with useful skills and experience, e.g. counselling</I><I>, who offered to volunteer but were not allowed to help as they were not known by the local authority dealing with the situation</I>.<BR> <BR> <I>The CAMERA response and recovery volunteer team aims to give an opportunity for local people to help in situations such as these.</I><BR> <BR> Volunteering roles include: Emergency Centre Assistants, Emergency Centre Team Leaders, Donation Assistants and Entertainers <BR> <BR> Useful skills include: Language Skills, First Aid or other healthcare skills, Counselling, Youth Work and any other skills that enable volunteers to work with local people e.g. mental health </SPAN></H3>

<H3><SPAN>Understanding the different humanitarian needs and vulnerabilities </SPAN></H3>

<H3><SPAN>Understanding the different volunteering roles on the CAMERA emergency response and recovery team </SPAN></H3>

<H3><SPAN>Understanding your responsibilities as a volunteer </SPAN></H3>

<H3 CLASS="MsoNormal"><SPAN>By the end of the training, you will be more aware of why this volunteering is needed, and ready to respond in the event of an emergency. This training will be interactive and features a mixture of Powerpoint presentation in a large group as well as exercises which you will explore in small groups. </SPAN></H3>

<H3 CLASS="MsoNormal"><SPAN>10.30-1pm CAMERA Emergency Volunteer Team training session </SPAN><SPAN></SPAN></H3>
<H3 CLASS="MsoNormal"><SPAN>> We will provide light refreshments. However, if you have any special dietary requirements please come prepared personally.  </SPAN></H3>
<H3 CLASS="MsoNormal"><SPAN>>> Everyone who takes part in this project must attend this one-off training. There will be further optional training and social events at a later date. </SPAN></H3>
<H3 CLASS="MsoNormal"><SPAN>>>> Not convenient? There will be a number training sessions to choose from which will take place at various days and times.  </SPAN></H3>
