Camera Obscura Workshop

Overview

For staff and students at the University of Salford.

Dive into the art and science of photography with our Camera Obscura workshop! In this interactive session, you'll craft your own Camera Obscura from scratch using laser-cut cardboard pieces. We’ll guide you through the step-by-step process of assembling the kit, demonstrating how to harness the principles of light and image projection. This workshop combines hands-on creation with a deep dive into optical science, perfect for photography enthusiasts, budding scientists, and curious minds alike. All materials are provided, and no prior experience is required. Come and discover the magic of capturing the world in a whole new way!

Making Series

This series of workshops is intended to introduce new users to a host of equipment and techniques to complete a small project, available at the University's Maker Space. Users are then permitted to use the equipment independently with the assistance of technical staff only if required.
