<h3>CamJam returns!</h3><p>Cambridge Raspberry Jam (known as CamJam) is an event and meet-up for those interested in the Raspberry Pi family of computing devices and other technologies which encourage making and education.</p><p>There will be a series of talks, organised workshops for both the Raspberry Pi and Pico plus a “show and tell” area for people to show off their projects. We are fully inclusive of technology: if your project is based around an Arduino, Micro:bit or something else, we would still love to see it!</p><p>This CamJam is being hosted by <a href="https://web.makespace.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Makespace</a>, Cambridge's community workshop.</p><p><strong>Please note:</strong> this is a ticketed event with a small admission fee for adults, however if this would affect your ability to attend, please <a href="https://camjam.me/?page_id=211" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">contact us </a></p><p>C﻿hildren must be always supervised while at Makespace with a maximum ratio of one adult to three children. This is a Makespace health and safety requirement and a condition for holding CamJam at Makespace. </p><h2><strong>Activities</strong></h2><p>We are going to be offering an assortment of activities, which will include:</p><ul><li><strong>Talks</strong> - aimed at a variety of different abilities and on a variety of different topics.</li><li><strong>Workshops </strong>- to allow participants to learn and practice skills.</li><li><strong>Show and Tell </strong>- an area for makers to show off their projects and talk to participants about them.</li></ul><h2>Getting involved</h2><p>We are looking for the following to help us to make the Jam the best experience possible.</p><ul><li><strong>Presenters</strong> - come along and give a talk for a variety of people with different levels of knowledge.</li><li><strong>Show-and-Tell</strong> - have a table to show off your technology projects.</li><li><strong>W﻿orkshop organisers &amp; helpers </strong>- we need people to help propose and run workshops as well as to give on-the-spot help during the sessions.</li><li><strong>Jam Makers</strong> - to take on general marshalling responsibilities.</li></ul><h2>Code of Conduct and Access for All</h2><p>Please make sure you read our <a href="https://camjam.me/?page_id=3134" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Code of Conduct</a> before attending one of our events.</p><p>Does your son or daughter have special educational needs? Please <a href="http://camjam.me/?page_id=945" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">read our Access for All policy</a> and let us know when booking.</p><h2>T﻿alks</h2><h3>The talks timetable is as follows:</h3><p>10:45 - “Is the Raspberry Pi Pico a computer?” by Jonathan Pallant</p><p>12:00 - “Experience AI” by Mark Calleja</p><p>14:00 - “The History of Pi in the Sky” by Dave Akerman</p><p>15:00 - “Pi Wars (NE-Five) &amp; Hacky Racers Autonomous Racing” by Keegan Neave</p><h2>Workshops</h2><p> Anyone attending a workshop will need to have a general admission ticket.</p><p>These workshops are self-guided for the most part but we'll have help on hand should you get stuck.</p><p><a href="https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/camjam-makespace-workshops-tickets-598941448997">T﻿ickets for workshops are available separately</a>, but are free for those with CamJam General Admission tickets.</p><h3>The Workshop timetable is as follows:</h3><p>10:45 - “Teleporting animals with Micro:Bit” with CoderDojo @ Makespace</p><p>12:15 - “Flying Discs” with Bill &amp; Tom Corteil</p><p>13:45 - “AI Face Filter” with Mark Calleja</p><p>15:15 - “An introduction to the Raspberry Pi Pico” with Mark Calleja</p><h2>Information for attendees </h2><p>CamJam is being held at <a href="https://web.makespace.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Makespace</a> which is in the centre of the city of Cambridge, UK.</p><p><strong>Pros</strong>:</p><ul><li>The Official Raspberry Pi store is a five minute walk away!</li><li>There are loads of great places to eat and shop.</li><li>You can get out and about and find some <a href="https://www.dinkydoors.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dinky Doors</a></li></ul><p><strong>C﻿ons:</strong></p><ul><li>The Official Raspberry Pi store is a five minute walk away! ;-)</li><li>We are afraid that t﻿here is no parking on-site <em>unless you are dropping off for Show and Tell</em>.</li></ul><h3>Parking</h3><p>Unfortunately, parking in Cambridge is a nightmare. If you are attending the Jam, we would suggest using the Park and Rides. The Park and Ride bus stops are about a five minute walk away from Makespace. We will provide a map of how to get to Makespace!</p><p>For those exhibiting in our Show and Tell area, we are hoping  be able to arrange a safe drop off. More details on this will be provided later! However, you will still need to park off-site during the event</p><p>There is off-road parking at the Graduate Hotel @ £3 per hour.</p><p>For on-street parking, I would suggest Sedgwick Avenue and adjacent side streets. There is more on-street parking along Queen's Road.</p><p>Please be warned: you <em>can</em> park at the Grand Arcade car park, but four hours parking is over £14!</p><h2>Important information for volunteers</h2><p>All our "Jam Makers" - our name for all the wonderful helpers that make the event possible - must comply with the <a href="https://www.raspberrypi.org/safeguarding/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Raspberry Pi Foundation Safeguarding</a> policy.
