A day-long, drop in event MAKING COMICS at City Library

Bewick Hall, Level 2, Newcastle City Library

A day of comic-making in the Library, no experience or skill necessary. Comics can be beautiful and refined and sophisticated, but they can also be a tremendously fun, intuitive, fast, punk-rock medium to express oneself in, across any genre of fiction or non-fiction.Drop in any time through the day to do some drawing and maybe make a comic. The day will kick off with a brief discussion of some of the ways comics work, then there'll be drawing games and challenges, mini-foldy-comic-making, and a project open to anyone, to make and print a collaborative anthology on the day. Plus we'll have local creators around chatting about and selling their work.Drop-in whenever. The workshop is free.Suitable for adults and young adults aged 14+
