Canopy Workshops - BatikDate: Wednesdays 24th July, 31st July, 7th August, 14th August.Time: 10:30am - 12.30pmLocation: Blakeney Village Hall, Butts Lane, Blakeney (Post code takes you to the Smithy) To get to the hall, go down a narrow lane called Butts Lane its signposted as To The Playing Field, just past the shop. Plenty of parking on site.Come join us for an exciting morning of batik at Canopy Workshops! Learn the traditional art of batik, a technique of wax-resist dyeing that creates beautiful patterns on fabric that will form a banner. Our experienced artist and tutor Joanne Callaghan will guide you through the process, from designing your own pattern to applying the wax and dye. No experience necessary – just bring your creativity and enthusiasm! Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to learn a new skill and contibute to a masterpiece that will be showcased at the Famous Blakeney Duck Race Festival where is will be shown off on our artsFES T Parade.Participants may wish to come to the Duck Race Festival and join the arstsFEST parade at on Saturday 24th August Time TBC. where they'll be able to see the Batik banner carried in the parade Or carry it themselves.Suitable for adults and children 10+ accompanied by an adult on a 1:1 basis.We will be using the side room at the Blakeney Village Hall.There is plenty of parking on site, please see details above for finding the hall.You are welcome to stay for the full two hours or just for part of the morning.We are holding 4 of these free workshops on Wednesdays 10.30 - 12.30 on 24th July, 31st July, 7th August, and 14th August You are welcome to book onto as many as you can make.
