Canva for Education: Foundations
A practical beginner session for primary teachers to confidently use Canva for Education to create simple, classroom-ready resources.
This hands-on foundations session is designed for primary school teachers who are new to Canva for Education or want to build confidence using it effectively and safely in the classroom.
The focus of the morning is on core Canva skills, not on complex workflows or advanced features. The session is deliberately paced to avoid overload and will support teachers to understand how Canva works, how it fits into everyday teaching, and how pupils would use it for simple tasks such as posters or single-slide activities.
During the session, the trainer will model key Canva tools live, including text, fonts, colours, elements, images, templates and basic AI image generation. Teachers will then create their own simple resource, following clear guidance and boundaries, to build confidence without pressure.
Pupil use will be discussed and demonstrated through examples, showing how the same tools can be used safely and effectively by children, without teachers needing to set up sharing, assignments or submissions in this session.
This session is ideal for teachers who want a calm, supportive introduction to Canva for Education and a clear understanding of how it can be used in primary classrooms.
