Carbon Innovation Programme Launch Event 2016
In 2011, the University of Oxford set an ambitious target, as part of our Carbon Management Strategy, to reduce Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 33% by the end of 2020/21 (against a 2005/6 baseline).
[Scope 1 and 2 emissions include direct emissions from fuel combustion or vehicles, and indirect emissions from purchased electricity, heat or steam.]
The Carbon Innovation Programme, in its second year of running, is an exciting opportunity for staff and students to develop innovative ideas, develop a viable business case, and (if successful) receive funding to deliver a real carbon reduction programme on the prestigious University of Oxford functional estate.
The team or individual responsible for the most successful projects is awarded a Carbon Innovator Award at the Sustainability Showcase Awards Evening.
This is a unique opportunity to receive training and support from experts, to work on real life scenarios and projects which will provide transferable skills and boost your CV. Individuals who present successful projects may have the opportunity to discuss career opportunities with industry partners Siemens or Hoare Lea, subject to availability.
