The intensive course follows the BSCI and SCCT guidelines for level 2 accreditation, and over five days will include formal lectures and hands-on training using Circle CVI workstations.

Key course outcomes:


During the course, you will complete a logbook of 150 cases required for the BSCI accreditation. After the course, you are required to complete a further 25 cases in your own hospital setting which is signed off by a senior cardiologist or radiologist. This can be completed within two years of attending the course. Following sign off, you are eligible to apply for BSCI accreditation and level 2. Once completed, you can report cardiac CT independently.

This course will provide you with the following:


  • A logbook of 150 completed Cardiac CT Cases (reported by you on the course, alongside a level III trainer).
  • A certificate of 35 CPD points required as part of the BSCI accreditation
  • A covering letter from Dr Azhar Khokhar confirming which cases have been covered
  • A reporting template
  • BSCI accreditation application instructions

Meet your faculty lead:


Dr Azhar Khokhar, Head of Cardiology, Southend University Hospital and Head of Cardiac Imaging, Essex Cardiothoracic Centre.


Azhar has expertise in cardiovascular imaging including echocardiograpy, nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT. He introduced cardiac CT in Southeast of England in 2002 with 22 years of experience. A level III trainer for cardiac CT.
