About this event

  • 2 hours

Join researchers from the Universities of Bristol, Kent, Liverpool, Oxford, and the London School of Economics and Political Science and representatives from the National Care Forum and the National Activity Providers Association for a webinar on care planning in older adult care homes. Hear about and discuss our research findings, next steps, and opportunities to be involved.

The event is for anyone who is involved or interested in care planning in older adult care homes.

Funded by Applied Research Collaborative’s National Priority Programme for Adult Social Care and Social Work, this study explores quality of life-based care planning in older adult care homes. Information was collected through a review of international literature and by consulting with social care professionals involved in care planning in older adult care homes.

The webinar will share key findings from the first two years of the study, the experience of our public advisors, and invite your feedback. We will also discuss our plans for further work on this topic and opportunities to be involved in this research. The webinar will also involve a panel discussion with representatives from the National Care Forum and the National Activity Providers Association and will end with a question-and-answer session. Throughout the webinar, there will be opportunities for audience participation.

The study has been conducted by a team of researchers from five Universities (the Universities of Bristol, Kent, Liverpool, Oxford, and The London School of Economics and Political Science) and public advisors who have lived experience of supporting people living in older adult care homes.

Key objectives of the webinar:

· To bring together people who are interested in developing/learning more about quality of life-based care planning.

· To offer a summary of, and allow attendees to respond to, our research findings on care planning in older adult care homes.

· To share our future research plans in this area and enable people to comment and help shape how this research will be conducted.

· To share opportunities to be involved in the research.
