Event description

Description

A week of collaborative, research driven UAV activities highlighting work undertaken as part of the EPSRC funded CASCADE project

The event will be held at Snowdonia Aerospace Centre, Llanbedr, between Monday 17th of June and Friday 21st of June 2019.

There will be hanger space for development work with direct access to the airfield/runways for flight testing, conference facilities for meetings and presentations, and camp style accommodation for people staying overnight

The core team will be CASCADE Academic Partners who will attend days 1-5 (Monday - Friday).
CASCADE Industrial Partners are invited to attend days 4 and 5 (Thursday and Friday) where the focus will be on the testing of capabilities with respect to the tranche 1 case studies.

To foster collaboration with the wider community, the workshop will be opened up to External Participants outside of CASCADE for days 3-4 (Wednesday, Thursday). Applications from this group will be reviewed based on assessment of the collaborative value of proposed demonstration activities.

Each class of participant should select the relevant ticket type when requesting a place. There is no charge for attending.

FAQs

I'm an External applicant for a ticket. When will I know if I am attending?

We will aim to let everyone know if they are invited to attend by the end of March 2019

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Private cars can be parked outside the airfield boundary at no charge. Cars not allowed airside unless insured to do so. There is a train station in Llanbedr walking distance to airfield. Trains run a few times a day.

What can I bring into the event?

Attendees are invited to make use of the airfield airspace to undertake flight demonstrations. Sub 7kg operations visual line of sight will be covered by an umbrella risk assessment. For demonstrations beyond this scope please contact the organisers.

Is there catering?

Lunch will be provided to day visitors on each day. Tea and coffee will be available throughout on a self service basis. Self catered breakfast and evening meal will be provided for those staying over.

What about the weather?

It does rain and wind in Wales. The event will take place what ever the weather, though outside flying is obviously weather dependent. Bring warm clothing.

Is there overnight accommodation?
