The Cash Learning Partnership presents Cash Week 2018 - a series of events taking place in London and online to advance issues, reflect and prepare for the future of cash transfer programming. This week of events will provide opportunities for:
- Networking and collaboration beyond the usual suspects, and an opportunity to hear from CaLP’s Technical Advisory Group and Board;
- Learning more about some of the key topics in cash, advancing crucial debates around tracking cash and delivering digital payments responsibly;
- Visioning the future of financial assistance to meet humanitarian needs.
Cash Week will build on progress since CaLP’s State of the World’s Cash report and the Grand Bargain Cash Workstream meetings.
Through a combination of public, member only and invite only workshops and discussions, Cash Week 2018 will provide a space to strengthen synergies between members, foster new connections, and collectively shape the future.

12:45-17:00: Cash and Gender
Co-led with CARE, ActionAid, UN Women and the Women's Refugee Commission
This half day event will bring together gender and cash experts to discuss priorities and next steps in ensuring gender is mainstreamed in cash transfer programming.

09:00-17:00: Celebrating digital cash in humanitarian response: where do we go from here?
Co-led with the Electronic Cash Transfer Learning Action Network (ELAN) and Oxfam
A summative learning event for the ELAN, reviewing key milestones in digital cash since 2015, and a glimpse into the future of beneficiary-centred design.

09:00-17:00: Tracking cash and vouchers workshop Part 2
Co-led with ECHO
Advance recommendations to develop standardized minimum requirements for tracking cash and vouchers, and draw linkages with the sub-workstream on Cost Efficiency and Cost Effectiveness.

09:00-17:00: Technical Advisory Group (TAG) meeting
In their annual face to face meeting, CaLP’s TAG will discuss a range of issues including trends in financial assistance and their implications for cash programming, how to address the technical barriers to Multipurpose cash, and CaLP’s role at the nexus between humanitarian CTP and social protection.

18:00-19:30: The Future of Cash panel discussion
This event will bring together leading thinkers to explore what future scenarios for humanitarian assistance mean for the future of cash programming. We will build on the panels at the recent British Red Cross cash conference to discuss:
- What progress are we making on the calls for better integration, collaboration and innovation highlighted in the State of the World’s cash report?
- Looking ahead, how will the future of cash programming be affected by broader trends between now and 2030?
- Who will need humanitarian financial assistance by 2030? Where will they be? What will their preferences be?
- What instruments, approaches and partners can shape how we could deliver financial assistance in 2030?
- What constraints and opportunities exist for actors currently working on cash programming to maximise these future opportunities?

09:00-12:00: NGOs and the Future of Cash
This workshop for NGOs will discuss the changing landscape of cash assistance and the place for NGOs within it. Together participants will address the following questions:
- What are the current internal and external constraints to NGO engagement in cash assistance? What will emerging trends, evolving partnerships and new instruments mean for NGOs?
- What role could CaLP play to help NGOs collectively envision, shape and navigate this future?

14:00-15:00: Meet the TAG (webinar)
Understand the role of the TAG in steering CaLP’s technical direction, and review the TAG’s progress since last year and their upcoming priorities.
