Due to limited budget and resources, we may not be able to provide catering to any additional attendees.Diversity Resource International is an organisation that has been committed to supporting ethnically diverse communities across East Sussex. DRI supports local ethnically diverse communities to access health and social care services, education and employment opportunities provided by public, voluntary, community and business sector organisations. DRI works to develop and empower marginalized communities, with a particular focus on individuals who may be particularly isolated, by providing information, signposting to relevant support services, providing personal and professional practical skills and facilitating connections to local communities, groups and networks. We work in partnerships with public, voluntary and community organisations to bridge the linguistic and cultural communication gaps, to raise awareness of the impact of structural discrimination and to bring about greater social justice. To celebrate diversity and bring communities together, DRI hosts an annual celebration. This year, DRI plans to also host the event in Eastbourne. The event will provide stalls with authentic dishes, arts and crafts, as well as stalls set up by statutory agencies and voluntary and community groups to provide information on services available for ethnically diverse communities.By organising such community involvement events, we are able to empower these communities and increase their sense of belonging. Our continuous engagement with minority ethnic communities enables us to collect insight and feedback which can be shared with service providers to improve accessibility.
