It is designed to empower entrepreneurs, particularly women-led businesses, by providing practical support, funding opportunities, and networking.Learn how to reduce emissions, build resilience, and thrive in a greener economy, while supporting Newham’s Just Transition Strategy—ensuring sustainability is fair, inclusive, and accessible to all businesses.A key outcome of this event will be the formation of a working group of SMEs committed to sustainability, fostering collaboration and shared action across Newham’s business community. <h3>What to Expect:</h3> Networking – Connect with funders, sustainability experts, and fellow entrepreneurs. Expert Speakers:

Talia Berriman is Green Economy Lead at the London Borough of Newham, the first local authority in the UK to publish a Just Transition Plan, which focuses on enhancing equity and increasing climate resilience of the borough in addition to reducing emissions. Talia leads on engagement with businesses on decarbonisation, green jobs and skills and embedding a just transition across the council through policy change and capacity building. Talia is also a board member for Climate Emergency UK CIC.

Jane is a Net Zero and sustainability specialist who has scaled the Green Business Action pilot into a Londonwide programme, supporting over 1000 of London's SMEs to decarbonise in the last three years. Having worked in the fashion industry for over a decade, she applies her knowledge of complex international supply chains to finding solutions to today's Net Zero and Retrofit challenges.

Mercedes is a Multi-Award-Winning Wedding, Event &amp; Corporate, sustainable venue stylist for eco-conscious clients in London and Kent. Having successfully transformed her traditional wedding and events company into a thriving sustainable business, it has gone on to win multiple-awards and secured contracts with the likes of Amazon, ITV and the NHS. Her events are beautiful, insta-worthy occasions without the waste, transforming spaces into beautiful places, without costing the Earth.

Mounika is deeply passionate about the intersection of Finance, Sustainability, and AI. With a background in accountancy, she is fascinated by optimising profits while using technology to drive sustainability in finance. In this respect, she helps businesses use AI to analyze ESG risks and access green investments, reducing their carbon footprint. Having recently participated in the Innovate UK - Women in Innovation program, and the Expressway Incubator Programme, Mounika has been working on AI-driven financial solutions for sustainability.
