CENTA Photography Workshop

This workshop is designed to be a simple introduction to photography. We will not be using particularly specialised kit but will focus on skills and techniques that are achievable on cameras from mobile devices up to DSLRs. The skills learned will then be applied to photography in science, and more specifically the field, using the practical experience and knowledge gained by the leaders (Stacy Phillips &amp; David Pettifer) during their own fieldwork. Further to using quality field photographs in theses and publications, participants will learn how photography can be used for science communication, specifically learning how to use Instagram and Twitter to share science in an effective way.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring along their own cameras (Point &amp; Shoot, Bridge, DSLR, Mobile device). If any further cameras are available to us  then these will be available to use. Some additional equipment (tripods, lighting, reflectors etc.) will be provided by workshop leaders, but the workshop is designed to focus on simple ways to improve photography that is not dependent on using lots of kit.
