Cervical Screening Mentor Training-CANCELLED

The Public Health team within Wiltshire have been providing a range of workforce training opportunities for a number of years,  They specialise in courses around Domestic Abuse, Emotional wellbeing and mental health, Drugs & alcohol and Sexual health.

<LI>Health Education England has funded this training for GP nursing staff who take cervical samples</LI>
<LI>This training is in addition to the mandatory 3 yearly update sample takers undertake</LI>
<LI>Aimed at lead nurses, mentors and nurses who supervisor trainees  </LI>
</UL>
 Training Event Content

<LI>Mentorship within the Cervical Screening Programme </LI>
<LI>Women's health</LI>
<LI>Campaign work to address low uptake in age groups, areas of deprivation</LI>
<LI>Working with local community groups to target hard to reach groups</LI>
<LI>Make every contact count; “at what age should we start to discuss cervical screening” look at what practices include during a women’s Contraception appointment.</LI>
<LI>Domestic abuse and female genital mutilation training to ensure nurses have the skills to help women who may confide during their smear appointment.  </LI>
<LI>Identify non responders and inviting them, exception reporting, using the correct equipment and system issues  </LI>
<LI>Cervical Screening Top tips and good practice guidance</LI>
</UL>
