<h3>We are asked all the time to support families who's children display what is commonly known as "challenging behaviour".</h3> We are delighted to bring our expertise into a webinar where we aim to share our knowledge and improve understanding of behaviour!The first stage in being able to manage behaviour to ensure that it is healthy and appropriate is to spend time understanding the reasons behind it. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE AT LEAST ONE REASON (often more!). <h3>SEND Advocate, Nicole Wright, will be covering:</h3> - The development of the brain &amp; what happens to the brain when a child feels anxious or 'triggered'- Why children may struggle to make sound decisions when in a state of anxiety/anger/worry/frustration- Causes of these big emotions- Masking; the reasons behind a difference in presentation or behaviour between settings (ie, home Vs school)- De-escalation - healthy ways and means- Low arousal approaches; re-framing what we do and say as adults- The lasting effect of these 'episodes' , how to minimise trauma for all involved- Ways to reconnect and recover- When and how to have honest discussions about safety and when to have such discussions With this topic being so popular and highly sought after, we'd strongly encourage anyone who wishes to attend to book their ticket sooner rather than later! As always there will be time for questions throughout the presentation.Slides, references and CPD certificates will be available to attendees along with a recording to watch the webinar again for up to 30 days afterwards.

About Nicole Wright:Nicole came to the SEN world through lived experience. She has three fabulous children who each present their own unique style for taking on life each day.Through her children Nicole learned how tricky the SEN world can be, how no two children or professionals approach things in the same way.Through a conversation with the Education Funding Agency about an issue her child was having at school, she was encouraged to take her knowledge further, something she hadn’t as a parent carer thought to do.This pushed Nicole to study for a law degree via Open University, mostly in school car parks, on the side-lines of sports training or late at night when the children were asleep. All the while she was continuing to support parents via both a local charity and a national one.Since completing her degree she has continued to advocate for parents, the very reason why she studied, to try and make the whole process simpler. Now, she Advocates for families through Sunshine Support, and we're so proud to have her on our team.
