Chamber Breakfast March

Chamber Breakfast March

Overview

The ‘Take it slow’ Breakfast

Do you tell yourself you’ll slow down once things are more established, more profitable, or less busy – only to find the finish line keeps moving?

It’s something we all do, particularly if you’re running and leading a business. Rest and recovery is often seen as time away from our business, but in reality, it’s a direct investment in how we do business.

At our March Chamber Breakfast, Claire Elmes from Inspire You Wellbeing will talk about her firsthand experience of how chronic stress and exhaustion early in her career has shaped how she now helps leaders recognise the hidden cost of running on empty.

She’ll explore the patterns she consistently sees around sleep, stress and energy – and help us recognise those patterns in ourselves. Reframing rest and recovery as a commercial advantage, we’ll look at what can happen when you protect your energy, think more clearly and lead from a sustainable place.

You’ll come away with practical reflections and simple shifts to help build your business and leadership style that doesn’t rely on burnout to succeed.

About this event

Expect to meet around 50 to 80 business people from Brighton and beyond, as you come together to meet, eat and network on the fourth Friday of each month.

You’ll connect with a wide range of people from all sectors and sizes, working across different sectors in the city – from sole traders and start-ups to some of the biggest businesses in the city.

Each month, we invite a guest speaker who’ll do a short talk to inspire you and give you new ideas to take back to your business, with practical takeaways or an interesting story from someone working in business in our city.

Chamber Breakfast isn’t about pitching. It’s about meeting like-minded people who can help champion your business, become a referral, customer or supplier. And if there’s someone specific you’d like to meet, the Chamber team are on hand to facilitate introductions.

What you can expect:

  • Make new connections through informal networking.
  • Hear from a brilliant speaker, who'll talk us through their personal and business story, the highs, and the lows.
  • Enjoy breakfast with like-minded people.
  • No need to pitch, as we can make an introduction if there’s someone you’d like to meet.
  • Find new local customers and suppliers.

Breakfast options: If you are anything like us, you’ll want to know what’s on the menu in advance. You will choose what you’d like on the day

Here are the options:

  • Cooked meat - Fried free-range eggs, Cumberland sausage, smoked streaky bacon, roasted plum tomatoes, mushrooms and toast (gluten-free available).
  • Cooked vegetarian - Poached free-range eggs, halloumi, roasted plum tomato, charred red peppers, smashed avocado, hollandaise, pea shoots, mixed seeds and toast (gluten-free available).
  • Cooked vegan - Toasted sourdough with hummus, smashed avocado, spinach, roasted plum tomatoes, mushrooms and mixed seeds (gluten-free available).
  • Oat porridge - Coconut and oat porridge topped with apples, cinnamon sugar and blueberries (vegan and gluten-free).

There is also tea, coffee and water available throughout the event.

*Chamber Breakfasts are held on the fourth Friday of each month, except in August and December when they are slightly earlier.
