Chartered PR Practitioner Assessment day

Founded in 1948, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) is the professional body for public relations practitioners in the UK. With over 10,000 members involved in all aspects of public relations, it is the largest body of its type in Europe.The CIPR advances professionalism in public relations by making its members accountable to their employers and the public through a code of conduct and searchable public register, setting standards through training, qualifications and the production of best practice and skills guidance, facilitating Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and awarding Chartered Public Relations Practitioner status (Chart.PR).The CIPR was granted its Royal Charter by the Privy Council in February 2005.

<P>To be eligible for a new application for Chartered PR Practitioner status, you can take any of the routes below, as long as you satisfy the relevant criteria.</P>

<H3 CLASS="entry">Academic route</H3>

<LI>
<P>If you hold the CIPR Diploma or a Masters degree or equivalent course recognised by the Institute, you are eligible if</P>
</LI>
</UL>

<LI>
<P>you are a full CIPR member (MCIPR), currently recording CPD on the CIPR scheme <STRONG>AND </STRONG></P>
</LI>
<LI>
<P><STRONG></STRONG>you have completed two consecutive or four non-consecutive years of CIPR CPD, including the year immediately before the one in which you are applying to become Chartered <STRONG>OR</STRONG></P>
</LI>
<LI>
<P><STRONG></STRONG>you have completed the equivalent amount of CPD under a scheme recognised by the CIPR</P>
</LI>
</UL>
<H3>Experience route</H3>
<UL>
<LI>
<P>If you do not hold the CIPR Diploma or a Masters degree or equivalent course recognised by the Institute, you are eligible if</P>
</LI>
<LI>
<P>you are a full CIPR member (MCIPR), currently recording CPD on the CIPR scheme <STRONG>AND</STRONG></P>

<LI>
<P><STRONG></STRONG>you have completed three consecutive or five non-consecutive years of CIPR CPD, including the year immediately before the one in which you are applying to become Chartered <STRONG>OR</STRONG></P>

<P><STRONG></STRONG>you have completed the equivalent amount of CPD under a scheme, recognised by the CIPR.</P>
</LI>

<H3>Overseas route</H3>
<P>If you're a member of another relevant professional body based overseas, e.g. MEPRA, please email <A HREF="mailto:SukhjitG@cipr.co.uk" TARGET="_blank" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Sukhjit Grewal</A>. We'll expect you to satisfy the below criteria:</P>

<LI>currently registered for CPD with the professional body</LI>
<LI>finished at least 3 consecutive or 5 non-consecutive years of CPD with the professional body, including the year immediately before that in which your application is submitted.</LI>
