About this event

We are delighted to invite you to the third Collaboration for Health Equity in Scotland (CHES) Learning Webinar, Local Place Priorities for Health Equity.

About the Collaboration

CHES is a partnership between Public Health Scotland (PHS), the Local Authority and NHS Boards across Aberdeen City, North Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire; and University College London’s Institute of Health Equity (IHE). IHE is a leading global health institute led by Professor Sir Michael Marmot.

The focus of the partnership is to strengthen and accelerate action to improve health and reduce inequity in Scotland. Insight and learning from the collaboration is being shared and used to support work across the whole country.

What to Expect

This third webinar will explore how each of the three participating areas is identifying and acting on local priorities for health equity, including:

  • How they have decided where to focus their efforts in terms of the 8 Marmot Principles; and
  • How have they used evidence and data to inform that process.

Speakers

  • Martin Murchie, Chief Officer Data Insights, Director Health Determinants Research Collaboration, Aberdeen City Council
  • Carol Stewart, Public Health Consultant, NHS Lanarkshire
  • Stewart Robbie, Business Manager, Education Directorate, North Ayrshire Council and
  • Michelle Sutherland, Partnership Facilitator, Health and Social Care Partnership Planning, North Ayrshire Council
