Children's Knitting Workshop - Central Croydon (8+)

A wonderful introduction to a timeless craft. Perfect if your child's a complete beginner or has started knitting but needs some guidance.

Your child will learn how to master simple knitting techniques with confidence! Our workshop will show them how to get started and take them through the basics. Our friendly and enthusiastic team will guide them through every step.

They will learn:

• how to cast on
• how to work a knit stitch
• how to work a purl stitch
• how to cast off.

If your child has already learnt the basics but lacks the confidence or ability to take on a project, then our team can help with that too.

At the Textile Repair Cafe, we keep our class sizes small so that there is plenty of time to ask questions or get some 1 to 1 guidance if necessary.

After the workshop, our hope is that your child will feel more confident to continue developing their new knitting skills and embark on a simple project.

Please note that these workshops are only for children aged 8 or over and every child must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Our premises are not suitable for additional (non-participating) children.

WHAT TO BRING

All materials and equipment provided for the duration of the workshop.

However, if your child has a particular project in mind which they will want to take home and continue working on, you are welcome to bring along your own yarn and the appropriate size knitting needles.

We also have a limited amount of wool and knitting needles that can be purchased on the day. Speak to the team on the day for more details.
